How to install the additional components to support the integration between Federation Services and Microsoft Azure. For a company having the integration with Microsoft Azure and Federation Services improves end-user experience to access cloud services, such as Azure itself, Office365, SharePoint Online, Lync Online and so forth.
In order to complete the integration we need to install two pieces of software on the Federation Server: Microsoft Online Services Sign-In Assistant and Windows Azure AD PowerShell.
The best practice is always to get the latest version from Azure Portal or Microsoft download site.
Installing Microsoft Online Services Sign-In Assistant
This tool is available at the Microsoft Download site, and make sure to download the x64 version, after all we will be running from the Federation Server which is running Windows Server 2012 R2.
The installation process does not require any configuration, just leave default settings and accept the license agreement and the tool will be installed in no time.
Installing Windows Azure AD PowerShell..
The prerequisite for this tool is the tool that we have just installed in the previous section. After downloading the Windows Azure AD PowerShell, let’s execute the file. This tool will add the PowerShell modules to allow PowerShell to manage Microsoft Azure objects which are shared with several other services, such as Office365.
